Job description
Lead CDI operations across 6 hospitals in Arizona and Nevada. Direct activities of the CDI department, provide program oversight, and implement processes for concurrent review of clinical documentation in inpatient medical records. Collaborate with providers and healthcare team members to improve documentation accuracy. No patient care duties. Requires frequent on-site engagement with hospital executive and clinical leadership teams. Travel 30-40% to support multiple hospitals and client sites. Required: RN, 4+ years CDI experience (acute inpatient), 2+ years leadership experience, CCDS or CDIP certification, advanced analytics and reporting experience.
Key responsibilities
- Lead CDI operations across 6 hospitals (AZ + NV)
- Drive program performance through KPIs, reporting, and operational oversight
- Partner with hospital executives (CFO, CMO, clinical leadership)
- Lead client-facing meetings, escalations, and strategic discussions
- Ensure effective staffing, workflows, and quality outcomes
- Provide CDI education to providers and staff
- Support cross-functional collaboration with finance, quality, and case management
What you bring
- RN license
- 4+ years CDI experience (acute inpatient)
- 2+ years leadership experience
- CCDS or CDIP certification
- Advanced analytics and reporting experience (Excel, dashboards)
- Ability to travel 30-40%
