Monday-Friday; day shift with some occasional evening coverage based on department need.

Major Responsibilities

Consults with senior ACH and AAH leadership to assess, problem-solve, and evaluate system issues, barriers, and models of care. Lead and/or participate in nursing and interprofessional teams to provide integrated delivery of patient care services. Develop, review, and revise pediatric nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and/or guidelines to facilitate organizational change reflecting EBP. Analyze clinical data including quality and safety reports to determine appropriate clinical initiatives (Quality Improvement/EBP/Research). Participate in the planning and development of process changes, training, and/or education. Provides pediatric nursing consultation for new and ongoing initiatives to improve pediatric inpatient nursing care and patient outcomes. Promote and enlist the involvement of direct-care nurses and others to organize and implement planned change. Participates in planning and design of continuing professional development related to pediatric nursing and promotion of these activities across AAH. Promote awareness in implementation of evidence-based pediatric nursing practice. Collaborate with nursing leadership in the monitoring, evaluation, and facilitation of the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care through EBP, innovation, and research. Seek professional opportunities for research and EBP dissemination through publication or presentations at local, regional, national, and international conferences. Assist and/or mentor others in quality improvement, EBP, innovation, and/or research activities.

Advance Practice Registered Nurse, APRN

Education/Experience Required

Level of Education: Minimum of Masters of Science in Nursing degree as an APRN Years of Experience: 4 years minimum in area of specialty as APRN. 5 years of RN experience preferred with a minimum of 4 years of experience as an APRN. Pediatric nursing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including experience in leading remote teams through the use of technology including video and audio conferencing. Travel may be required. Proficiency with an Electronic Medical Record. Ability to work varying hours to meet the needs of Advocate Aurora Health. Ability to work under stressful conditions in order to meet deadlines. License/Registration/Certification: National pediatric nursing certification from an accredited body; Current Illinois APRN License; Current Illinois Registered Nurse License; Current BLS certification; Current PALS certification
